- ROBERT T. SIMON, ESQ. - THE SIMON LAW GROUP

A Los Angeles Superior Court jury awarded a $17 million verdict in favor of our client – Robert Simon and Greyson Goody of The Simon Law Group.  The case involved a low-speed rear-end collision. The defendant was driving and realized too late, that he was about to strike the stopped car in front of him that was occupied by the plaintiff. The defendant slammed on his brakes but still collided with the plaintiff at approximately 15 mph. The plaintiff was shook up but at first appeared to not suffer any  significant injury. However, the next day, the plaintiff was experiencing significant pain in his head, arms, shoulders, and back. He first saw a chiropractor, but eventually had to consult with doctors and had multiple MRI’s performed.

The plaintiff received epidural injections to relieve his pain but eventually had to have three surgical procedures performed on his neck and back. The plaintiff indicated he still currently is experiencing pain and will likely need more surgical procedures in the future.

For Robert’s trial, MotionLit Services provided all the trial technology, including demonstratives, video editing, exhibit boards, slides and performed the hot seat operator/technician work.

Jury awards $7.4 million to mother injured, daughter killed in crosswalk crash. The driver and the county were found liable in the 2012 crash that left a mother seriously injured and her 3-year-old daughter dead.

The Wrongful Death and Day-in-the-Life video produced by MotionLit for Richard E. Donahoo, Esq., Donahoo & Associates, clearly told the story of liability, which effectively presented the negligence of the city, the driver, and portrayed the tragic loss.

The first civil jury trial in the Los Angeles Superior Court where the jurors were each provided with their own iPads was conducted by former CAALA President Lisa Maki and her co-counsel, Genie Harrison, in Department 34, before the Hon. Michael Linfield. These iPads created by MotionLit presented all the  documentary evidence that was not subject to authentication challenges. Lisa and Genie received a favorable verdict. Hon. Michael Linfield was pleased with the smooth and efficient iPad trial presentation.

MotionLit pioneered and created the new iPad trial technology, and during trial assisted in the trial support for Lisa Maki and Genie Harrison with their professional trial technician team. Prior to trial, MotionLit prepared graphic exhibits, scan documents, and load both onto 17 iPads for jurors and council to view.

Plaintiff sued janitorial company alleging negligence and premises liability after she slipped and fell at work and suffered a fractured pelvis, fractured elbow, fractured scapula, and fractured ribs.  Defendants admitted that they failed to adhere to their own policies and procedures regarding the use of warning signs after mopping.

Plaintiff attorney Brandon J. Simon of the Simon Law Group and Keith J. Bruno of Bruno & Nalu retained MotionLit’s expert trial technician who provided the Litigation Support, equipment installation services and exhibit binder production.  MotionLit’s technician, also known as the hot-seat operator, ensured that the presentation and technology ran smoothly throughout the course of the trial, while playing back deposition video clips, calling-up key exhibit documents, and gorgeously designed demonstratives in opening and closing statements.

A Santa Monica jury came back with a 2.5 million dollar verdict for a traumatic brain injury victim represented by our client Andrew Wright of Law Offices of Andrew L. Wright.

An accident reconstruction was produced by MotionLit based on the MRI scan and the expert Neuroligist to effectively orient the jury on where the brain injury was located in her head. The plaintiff sustained-a right occipital infarct of the cerebellar lobe and damage to the orbital frontal lobes and Olfactory Bulbs which effected her sense of smell.

Additionally when it came time for the trial, MotionLit’s experienced Trial Tech was well prepared, with all the proper court gear, to perform as Mr. Wright’s “hot seat” operator.
